Arrived KFPR yesterday from Bahamas to clear Customs and get a long overdue AMERICAN Burger. Line guys helped unload and get us into Customs. Upon clearing Customs, line guys offered to re-load baggage while we went to get obligatory burger. Given the 100* ramp temps, this was VERY welcome.
During preflight, I placed my purse on lading gear pod. Purse contains all of life, including, passports for group, significant cash, meds, licenses (pilots and professional), etc... I know you see this coming! In my rush to get everyone loaded and aircraft AC functioning, left the purse on pod being obscured by open door. Realized the issue upon arrival in Atlanta later that afternoon. Located purse via iPhone finder and contacted FBO (APP Jet Center). They sent someone onto runway and located MIA purse. After about 30 minutes of effort, Purse was on it's way to Atlanta via FedEx same day service. Purse was just delivered to me with all of the contents except iPhone, I assume the iPhone departed Purse during it's 50-70 kt departure from plane. FBO doing one last pass trying to locate missing iPhone. iPhone is probably toast after suffering that type of fall.
This is truly an FBO at it's finest, can't say enough good things about them. Needless to say, if you're arriving from Bahamas and need the Florida Customs stop and a burger, this is the spot!
